Peter Kale, manager van het weeskinderen project, heeft foto’s gemaakt. Op de foto’s staan leerlingen en hun scholen. De namen van de scholen zijn: D. A. (District Assembly) Primary School, T. I. Ahamadiyya Day Care, Nursery School and Primary School and the Nemoro Catholic Primary School. Aan de kleding van sommige kinderen kun je zien dat ze niet allemaal een schooluniform dragen. Dit is verplicht in Ghana en stamt uit de tijd dat Ghana een Engelse kolonie was.<\/p>\n

Het is voor de kinderen nog steeds moeilijk, iedereen kan zo zien, dat je arm bent omdat je geen schooluniform draagt. Dit ondanks alle politieke gesprekken over het leveren van gratis uniformen aan scholen. Maar wat nog erger is, als je al geen uniform kunt kopen, betekent het automatisch ook geen boeken, schriften, pennen, een tas of zelfs schoenen hebt. De verzorgers van deze weeskinderen kunnen dat niet betalen. Soms moeten de kinderen ook nog betalen voor een maaltijd. Dan hebben ze nog een probleem: geen eten! Zij vallen bijna altijd buiten de boot en daarom is onze steun voor deze kinderen h\u00e9\u00e9l hard nodig.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
