Via het AJB-fonds worden landbouwprojecten gesteund in de noordelijke regio’s in Ghana. De eerste aanvraag via Broeder Bosco voor het weduwenproject in Ullo, is eind april 2013 binnen gekomen. Met dit project werken we samen met de stichting Wilde Ganzen. De aanvraag is inmiddels goedgekeurd en men is volop bezig met de uitvoering van het project. Het staat onder leiding van Broeder John Bosco en is een initiatief van de weduwen in Ullo en omgeving.<\/p>\n

Als organisatie zet UWAID zich in om de achtergestelde situatie van weduwen en wezen te helpen verbeteren. De weduwen zijn zich bewust van de onrechtvaardigheid in het traditionele systeem waardoor zij buitengesloten worden tot economische activiteiten. Dit gebeurt vooral in de dorpsgemeenschappen op het platteland maar ook in de hele regio. Zij zoeken een weg vooruit door middel van onderwijs, voorlichting, economische activiteiten en training met verschillende kleinschalige projecten. Daarbij is extra aandacht voor discriminatie en sociale uitsluiting. Door het laten zien van de mogelijkheden wil de organisatie onderwijs en economische activiteiten bij elkaar brengen en op die manier een weg vooruit zoeken.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
